Thea Galang was born in Roxas City, Capiz, Philippines and moved to Calgary, Alberta after immigrating from her homeland eight years ago. Through acrylic and oil painting, charcoal and graphite drawing, and sculpting with recyclable materials, Thea has honed her skills as a self-taught artist.
Her pieces often lead back to connecting her Filipino heritage by showcasing aspects of her hometown, her favourite home-cooked meals, and her family. She enjoys the other facets of the fine arts, performing in choral and musical performances.
